Product Description

N-heptane n-heptane (n-heptane) is a colorless, volatile liquid with the chemical formula C7H16. it is an organic compound with a high octane number and is commonly used in the determination of gasoline octane number standards. The molecular structure of n-heptane is CH3(CH2)5CH3, and it is a non-polar molecule.

Solvents and Extractants: n-heptane is a commonly used solvent and extractant, widely used in the extraction of animal and plant fats and oils, fast-drying rubber cement, rubber solvents, etc. In addition, it is used in the manufacture of cosmetics and as a solvent for the cleaning of paints, lacquers, fast-drying inks, and printing press parts. 

Organic synthesis and laboratory reagents: n-heptane is an important raw material for the preparation of laboratory reagents and is commonly used in organic synthesis and the preparation of laboratory reagents.

Fuel: Due to its high flammability, n-heptane is often used as a fuel, especially in pressurized outdoor liquid fuel furnaces.4 In addition, n-heptane is also used as a standard in the determination of octane number, which is used to measure the goodness of a particular brand of fuel.

Other applications: n-heptane is also used in the vulcanization process of rubber and as a compounding agent for rubber cement.4 In law enforcement and government agencies, n-heptane is also commonly used as a solvent for handling latent fingerprints.
