It is mainly used in the food and beverage industry as an acidifier, flavoring agent and preservative, freshness preserver. Chemical Properties
Citric acid monohydrate is a colorless crystal or white crystalline powder with a density of 1.542, a melting point between 135 and 152 degrees Celsius and a boiling point of 56 degrees Celsius. It is more soluble in hot water, has a strong acidic odor, and will weather when placed in dry air.
