Product Description

Monoethanolamine (MEA), chemically known as 2-aminoethanol or 2-hydroxyethylamine, is an important chemical raw material and organic synthesis intermediate. Its chemical formula is C2H7NO, molecular weight is 61.08, CAS No. is 141-43-5. monoethanolamine is stable at room temperature and pressure, it is colorless and transparent viscous liquid with hygroscopicity and ammonia odor, it is easily soluble in water, ethanol and acetone, and slightly soluble in ether and carbon tetrachloride.

Monoethanolamine is widely used in many fields:
Industrial applications: used for decarburization and desulfurization reactions in petrochemical, natural gas processing, oil refining and other industrial processes; manufacture of bactericides and detergents; used as raw material for metal cleaners and rust inhibitors; processing aids for the food industry; manufacture of nonionic detergents, emulsifiers, automobile antifreeze, etc.
Pharmaceutical field: used for synthesizing bactericide and antidiarrheal agent in pharmaceutical industry; fluorescent whitening agent in textile industry; synthesizing advanced dyestuffs in dyeing and chemical industry; neutralizing agent in rubber industry and printing ink industry.
Other applications: used in the manufacture of fluorescent whitening agents, moth-proofing agents, cleaning agents; as neutralizing agents, plasticizers, vulcanizing agents and foaming agents, etc.
