It is a colorless liquid with irritating odor, insoluble in water, but soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene, acetone, etc.12 The chemical properties of cyclohexane are relatively stable, and it does not react with strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidizing agents and strong reducing agents under general conditions, but it can be halogenated under high temperature or light to generate halogenated cyclohexane; oxidized under nitric acid to adipic acid It can be oxidized to adipic acid under the action of nitric acid; oxidized to cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone by air under the action of cobalt catalyst; dehydrogenated to benzene under the action of platinum or palladium catalyst. The chemical properties of cyclohexane are stable, and it does not react with strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidizing agents and strong reducing agents under general conditions.
